ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Data Center Technician, you will be a key member of our data center operations team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our data center infrastructure. Your role involves advanced technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance the integrity of our mission-critical systems.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

• General data center duties as assigned 

• Understand operations and infrastructure of the site 

• Basic miner diagnostics and repair 

• Intro mechanical skills 

• Miner tools 

• Intermediate repairs

• Data analysis 

• Intermediary mechanical skills 

• Flashing firmware 

• Ability to lead projects at discretion of supervisor/operations manager 

• Ability to train new hires 

• Intermediate network-related troubleshooting 

• Expert diagnostic and troubleshooting 

• Trusted with any repairs 

• Inventory reconciliation and asset tracking 

• Expert mechanical skills 

• Ability to lead projects at discretion of Associate Manager and/or Manager, Data Center

• Lastly, a proactive approach to maintaining operations of the site

• And other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in IT/computer hardware, troubleshooting, construction, and/or maintenance. 

• A basic understanding of IP addressing and subnets and an understanding of small electronics or medium to low voltage electrical. 

• Must demonstrate the ability to be a problem solver, diligent, hard worker, team player, and demonstrate flexibility. 

• 2+ years of data center experience, or 1+ year of cryptocurrency mining farm experience

• 3+ years of operations or warehouse management experience within a fast-paced industry, with strong management and leadership skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate related tasks such as progress, plans, timelines, requirements, etc

• Familiarity with basic power/electricity knowledge, with a basic understanding of the working principles and functions of transformers, low-voltage power distribution cabinets, high-voltage switch cabinets, and PDUs

• +Bilingual in English and Spanish is a Plus 

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Tech III requires at minimum 6 months of employment with Hut 8

• 1-3+ years’ experience in IT, Systems Engineering, network administration, and/or troubleshooting

• Must pass a motor vehicle check
